Boston, MA – November 14, 2024 – Zipcode Bio congratulates Dr. Elena Atochina-Vasserman of the University of Pennsylvania for her presentation today at the 12th mRNA Health Conference in Boston, where she shared exciting advancements in targeted mRNA delivery to the lung by the single component IAJD delivery system. Her presentation, titled “Targeted Delivery of TGF-β mRNA to Lung Parenchyma Using One-Component Ionizable Amphiphilic Janus Dendrimers (IAJD),” highlighted research and applications that aligns closely with Zipcode Bio’s proprietary SHARP (Single-component Homogeneous Amphiphilic Routed Particles) platform, demonstrating the capability of organ specific delivery and potentials in disease treatment.
This study demonstrated how the unique structural design of IAJD enables precise, efficient delivery of therapeutic mRNA to lung tissue and targeting acute injuries in preclinical animal models. Unlike ligand-based targeting methods, IAJD’s design provides lung tropism through its sophisticated amphiphilic architecture. The initial therapeutic results observed in animal models not only validate IAJD’s efficacy but also offer important insights on safety and tolerability, supporting further platform development and future therapeutic applications for respiratory conditions.
This technology is designed to overcome the challenges of nucleic acid delivery through its one-component particle, bypassing the need for additional targeting ligands. This platform is aimed at advancing mRNA therapeutics for patients with unmet medical needs, with applications focusing on lung-targeted therapies and respiratory diseases.
Zipcode Bio Co-founder Dr. Drew Weissman also delivered a keynote presentation at the 12th mRNA Health Conference.
